Adhuna Bhabani

Founder & Creative Director

“People will forget what you said, they will forget what you did, but they will never forget how you made them feel.”

-Maya Angelou

Adhuna, affectionately known to everyone in the industry as Od, launched her very first salon in India 1998 along with her brother Ashoke (AKA Osh), having already made a mark with her work in the UK and in India for doing things “a little bit differently.”

She is passionate about her craft and loves to teach and share…. it is this passion & determination that drives the brand at its core, coupled with the fact that Adhuna started her career as an apprentice in the UK and that she has had to learn the ropes at every level.
Inspired by the Punk Era which she was surrounded by at the age of 16 when she started hairdressing, more for the fashion than the music continues to be the spark that pushes her to try and always think out of the box.

Adhuna firmly believes in her core philosophies, she will not cut, copy, paste! She believes that everyone is unique and that “the only person you need to look like is you.” Her top priorities are being a great mentor and maintaining extremely high standards within her team, inspiring other hairdressers to achieve their best and ensuring every client that visits her salons leaves feeling their best, with the right products to maintain their hair at home.

Osh Bhabani

Co-Founder & Creative Director

Osh co-founded BBLUNT along with Adhuna with a commitment to build an army of kickass hairdressers and to drag the Indian hair industry into the new millennium.

BBLUNT has in many ways done that with groundbreaking film and fashion work, while training over 1000s of hairstylists since the inception of BBLUNT. Needless to say, this has made Osh proud.

Osh and Adhuna were able to create a brand that broke away from the norms of the Indian hair care market and have pushed themselves to always stay one step ahead of the curve.

Opening one of the first comprehensive training academies in India was a passion project for the brother-sister duo and Osh believes it to be one of the greatest reasons for their growth.

Being able to train hairstylists is what Osh believes has set BBLUNT apart. “Our clients were for the first time able to get kickass cuts and colours with any stylist in the salon, not just the superstars!”

Osh was in his early twenties when he and Adhuna decided to join forces and start their own company. He says it has been one of the most fun periods of his life “working super hard and playing even harder” and he feels that those fun times have reflected in the development of a brand culture which no other salon brand has in India, which gives him immense pride.

BBLUNT has been a massive learning experience for Osh. Building a business from scratch more than once is something he feels very proud of and hopes the fun days will continue for many more years!

Osh knows that if you have a good product and service the rest will fall into place. He believes he has basically been able to put Adhuna into a box and make her available to all BBLUNT clients through their development of the business and the team. This has been a key element to the company’s success.

Avan Contractor

Creative Director

Avan Contractor has been part of the hairdressing industry for over 20 years now and has been an integral part of BBLUNT team right from its inception in 1998, crafting effortlessly stylish hair with professional precision and care, tailoring it to suit individuality and practicality.

Avan’s passion for hairdressing armed with her understanding and knowledge of her craft catapulted her to become one of the leading hair stylists in the country. Known for her outstanding work in over 20 films creating be-spoke hair design to fit the characters persona, starting with the cult classic “Dil Chahta Hai”, the film that changed the perception and created a fresh new hairdressing idiom within the Indian Film Industry and played a pivotal role in opening up a whole new avenue for the hairdressing industry in India.

With a vast gamut of experience from working in the field of hair, fashion, films, and television, Avan brings with her the expertise and know-how of understanding the need for specialized and professional services. Her passion, dedication and hard work earned her a partnership at BBLUNT and she continues to spread her passion and vision by dedicating herself towards mentoring the team and building the BBLUNT brand in creating the ultimate in modern hair and luxury.

Brent Barber

Creative Director

Brent Barber started his hair journey in Melbourne in early 1993 and right from the outset, he knew hair would be the catalyst for him to experience the world and life in all its color, beauty and excitement. After four years of sweeping floors, washing hair and making countless cups of tea, he got his qualification and soon thereafter he packed his bags and headed for the global hair capital of London. It was there that all his hard work and training paid off and 10 years later, he had a swag of magazine covers and a major award on his resume.

His hairdressing journey brought him to India & he joined BBLUNT as a Creative Director towards the end of 2010 and was immediately blown away by the passion and drive of the founding members Adhuna, Osh and Avan and the boundless energy of the people and country itself. The thing he is most proud of when he looks back at his career is his time in India and how he was able to make a positive impact on the hair Industry and in the process, help others achieve their hair journey. He is so privileged to have India in his life and continues to contribute to the brand in his must-do annual visits.

Spoorthy Shetty

CEO, BBLUNT

Spoorthy Shetty has over 2 decades of experience in the services and retail industry, having worked with some of India’s reputed names like TATA, MARICO & HUL.

Her exceptional grasp on driving customer service excellence and delivering consistent profitable business growth is the reason for the numerous awards under her belt. She has been recently awarded the “Business Woman of the year 2017” at the Future Woman Leader Summit.

Leading alignment to the overall vision of the company & engaging with the team drives her as an individual. She believes that if you can unleash passion; people get a sense of belonging, a sense of legacy which helps bring out the best.

BBLUNT has been a natural fit for Spoorthy as she is equally passionate about education & quality. What attracted her towards BBLUNT was that the brand refused to be straight-jacketed by social norms. She says that BBLUNT’ers are famous for being the misfits, the round peg in the square hole & they were the original “Disruptors” who revolutionized hairstyling in the film industry when they made a splash with their first movie, “Dil Chahta Hai.”

She is passionate about designing and executing the right processes and building a high- performance culture. She knows that listening to customers, employees & other stakeholders isn’t just an art but a necessity for the business.

Her goal is to support BBLUNT across different verticals viz. salons, franchises, academies, products (partnering with Godrej) and Film/Ad/Magazine shoots & take happy hair days to every single city.

Manhoihkim

Salon Director & Salon Manager

7 fruitful years of working with clients, training in Academy and motivating my team at BBLUNT.
I love a complete transformation from long to short with contemporary styling. A symmetric line is my personal favourite but it's all about what looks best on my client.
For me, it's sacrilegious to comb out curls especially in dry hair. Give the curls their due, they just need to be handled right. Apart from this, I don't have many No No's of hair as I just love hair.
Adhuna Bhabani, Brent Barber and Guy Tang they are my inspiration, their energy level has no boundaries to hair and what can be achieved.
Every new situation is a challenge and I love that! Though really straight thick hair is the most challenging.
I love the styling of 70's the most, most stylish and retro, taking some from this and modernize to current fashion is absolute Yes.
I have enjoyed my journey of growth. Learning with each new responsibility that was bestowed upon me. Setting up the new salon at Bel Road Bangalore is my latest challenge till I master it too.
I think razor cut never got its due.
Sport: Love cricket that the only sport I know | Music: Love the boyband of 90's, it's always on my playlist | Hobby: traveling is a must and addiction for me. | Movie: Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara | Book: One Indian Girl
I love the excitement of working on the edge backstage for Lakme Fashion Week. It's a thrill to work with time limits and push for the best look in a show.
I love accessorizing, big bead on my neck or printed scarves add the glam to my work attire. A bright lipstick never fails to give my smile the extra zing!
Love all color but black and white are my favourites.

Vinod Kharka

Salon Director & Salon Manager

Joined as a Senior Stylist in the year 2010
I love cutting short hair, though it doesn't mean that long hair is not fun to cut coz I love cutting hair.
Lots of no's that people do to their hair, it depends on who I am consulting on the chair.
Anyone anywhere that could be Beckham to a normal person who styles their hair very well.
My first haircut in the salon which I spent about 3 hours to finish.
90's and onward because that's when I started understanding hairstyle.
The beauty of curly hair which people want to straighten because it's curly but all I want to say is that curly hair just needs a right stylist.
Cricket /Good Music will always pump up the creative energy of any stylist / Sculpting / Good movies / Books always make me sleepy.
Every time I see a smile on my client's face after a haircut.
White T-Shirt and Blue Jeans with hair product.
