BBLUNT, a brand with a range of hair care and styling products, has released a music video to promote its shades. Founded by Adhuna Bhabani, the brand claims that over the past 15 years, Bollywood has come up remarkably in creating stylized looks for its characters and BBLUNT has played an integral part in this journey. Today, the BBLUNT repertoire boasts of styling credentials for over 50 of Bollywood’s most iconic characters and till date remains the go-to place for everything to do with hair for Bollywood actors and A-listers alike. The latest ad, features Bhabani (Founder and Creative Director of BBLUNT) along with India’s top 7 beauty bloggers, revealing the secret of 7 new colors in its first-ever Bollywood inspired video. The video showcases what inspired BBLUNT to create the stunning on-trend shades like Coffee Natural Brown, Mahogany Reddish Brown, Wine Deep Burgundy, Honey Light Golden Brown, Blueberry Blue Black, Chocolate Dark Brown and Natural Black. This year, BBLUNT got Kareena-Kapoor-Khan as its face for Salon Secret High Shine Crème Hair Color. Conceptualized by Schbang, the campaign, ‘Once Upon A Shine’ recreates some of the iconic looks on beauty bloggers like Miss Malini as Kareena Kapoor from Don, Shifa Merchant and Jas Sagu as Preity Zinta and Sonali Kulkarni respectively in Dil Chahta Hai, Juhi Godambe and Aayushi Bhangur as Katrina Kaif and Kalki Koechlin respectively in Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, Stephanie Timmins and Madhura Bhogale as Priyanka Chopra and Anushka Sharma respectively in Dil Dhadakne Do. While commenting on the video, Harshil Karia, Founder and Creative Director, Schbang said, “It isn't every day that you get to recreate the sets of iconic films and pay homage to them while using their original soundtracks! From a campaign standpoint, the message doesn't get any truer than this. Salon Secret High Shine Crème Hair Color is truly a revolutionary product and it encapsulates the brand’s years of experience on sets and the salon floor to create India’s foremost hair color with Shine Tonic in a box at an unbelievable price. This campaign is designed to compress that journey, giving consumers a glimpse into the work that’s gone into creating this hair color.” The agency had partnered Shaun Kolah to direct this film and got Famous Animation on board for the special effects. Talking about the video, Bhabani said, “Bollywood as a culture and with its reach is huge not only in India, but globally. A product range and the launch of a salon-quality hair color at home that resonates our Bollywood journey had always been a goal that Avan Contractor and I aspired towards ever since we set out to style our first film. With the successful launch and positive feedback on the vibrancy of each shade and the long-lasting shine delivered, it was about time we told our audience the Bollywood backstory that made the Salon Secret dream a reality. This short film got me all nostalgic; the entire experience was like reliving the moments, hard work and learning we had on the sets of each of these films. I appreciate the team work that has gone into the making of this and I’m so excited to see the final cut with the special effects in place. Be ready to step into a world of imagination, inspiration and a lot of SHINE!” Thomas Dawes, Creative Director, Godrej Consumer Products stated, “After the phenomenal success of our recent Dry Shampoo #DirtyLittleSecret we knew we had to do something huge to celebrate the launch of our at home hair color, Salon Secret. So we decided to create a film that celebrates the thing that most people know BBLUNT for – Bollywood!!! We identified the top bloggers in the country whose personalities were an ideal match to the iconic star they were playing, with Adhuna recreating these iconic looks once more… then we sprinkled a little bit of magic. This is going to blow your socks off!” Since long time, protagonists sported a similar look in every film they signed up for and BBLUNT helped in breaking this traditional mold and making hair design a key identifier for that particular film, they started with ‘Dil Chahta Hai’. The film chronicles Bhabani’s Bollywood journey and depicts how each character in the films that she has styled, drove her inspiration and enthusiasm to create the perfect shade accompanied by the perfect shine for the new hair color range. The campaign video has been watched by over 1 million viewers on YouTube so far.
