There are phases in my life when everything seems to be running smooth that it almost feels boring to me. I’m always craving a change or experiencing something new and the easiest way for me to achieve that feeling and satisfy that ‘itch’ is to play with my hair – be it a haircut or give them a new look by colouring them. Which is exactly what I did with the newly launched BBLUNT Salon Secret High Shine Crème Hair Colour
. It had anyway been quite a while since I had done something new to my hair so going for a hair colour was more than justified. I chose to go for this new offering by BBLUNT by Adhuna Bhabhani because of 3 very important reasons: 1) Shine Tonic –
The BBLUNT Salon Secret High Shine Crème Hair Colour
is one of the first products to deviate from the typical colorant + developer mix in hair colours. It has gone ahead by introducing a third element known as the ‘Shine Tonic’ enriched with silk proteins that gives a boost of shine to your hair that no other regular home colouring product can. 2) It contains no ammonia-
This one’s a no-brainer. Ammonia is extremely damaging to not only the hair but also the scalp so you must always avoid hair colours with ammonia. It is said to be very corrosive to the hair shaft that can permanently damage the core of the strand and cause a lot of breakage making it weak. 3) It gives a 100% grey coverage to the hair-
As much as I hate to admit it – I do have a few grey strands running amok and a trip to the salon just to get them covered involves too much of my time, effort and money. So I’m bringing the salon to me! Super easy to apply at home, the BBLUNT Salon Secret High Shine Crème Hair Colour
really makes life easy and takes care of my grey strands perfectly well.
There are 7 fun colors to choose from: Black – NATURAL BLACK 1, Chocolate – DARK BROWN 3, Blueberry – BLUE BLACK 2.10, Honey – LIGHT GOLDEN BROWN 5.32, Wine – DEEP BURGUNDY 4.20, Mahogany – REDDISH BROWN 4.56, Coffee – NATURAL BROWN 4.31. It has been such a long time with my light hair that I almost immediately knew I wanted a darker shade but not a solid black. So I went for the Blueberry. Yay!
The packaging of the product is smart and well explained. The box contains the following products: Salon Secret Colourant: 1 Tube of Crème colourant 50 gms Salon Secret Developer: 1 Tube of Developer 50 gms Shine Tonic: 1 Tube of Shine Tonic 8 ml (my favorite part) Gloves: 1 Pair of disposable gloves, wear these while you colour to protect your hands. You can use a brush to colour your hair but I went with the no-fuss hand approach. Had my gloves on, dipped my fingers and started off. Easy Instructions for Usage: 1 Instruction leaflet
I will now take you through a step by step approach to how I coloured my hair using the BBLUNT Salon Secret High Shine Crème Hair Colour
. Empty the contents of all 3 tubes into a single bowl. Give it a good mix. Wear the gloves and start applying the mixture on your hair. Since this is a global colour you don’t really need to get into the technicalities of separating strands, using foil etc. I did wear a towel around my shoulders to prevent the color from getting on my clothes or in this case my pristine white bathrobe. This was followed by 30 minutes of watching some very cute kitten youtube videos after which it was time to remove the color. The trick is to take a little bit of water to emulsify for about 5 minutes. Then let more water run through till the running water is clear. And follow up with shampoo + conditioner.
Et voilà. New hair, no greys, great shine and no visit to the salon! All thanks to the BBLUNT Salon Secret High Shine Crème Hair Colour
. Woot woot!
